Sydney, Australia, Wednesday June 17: Fan Vs Band is back by popular demand with its very own weekly half hour show set to premiere exclusively on MTV at 9:00pm (AEST) Thursday June 25.
MTV’s tongue in cheek quiz show is the only game show to reward fans for their freaky artist knowledge with each episode pitting artist against fan to reveal one triumphant winner - who really knows more, the Fan or the Band???
This season sees Jessica Mauboy, Wes Carr, Something With Numbers, Shortstack, Josh Pyke and The Potbelleez going up against an ‘uber’ fan who thinks they know more than the band themselves.
Host of the show, “Cheesy Mac”, aka MTV’s serial prankster Darren McMullen, livens up the show with sexy trophy girl Daisy and continues to shock talent and fans with his ‘cheesy’ antics, over the top remarks and outrageous attire.
Fan Vs Band first arrived on the scene as part of the 2008 MTV Australia Awards with Juliette and The Licks, Wyclef Jean, The Potbelleez and Kisschasy all stepping up to the plate to face their biggest fans. The tongue in cheek quiz show soon became a talking point for the artists during their time in Australia which saw the shows progression from the 2008 Awards to the 2009 Vodafone MTV Australia Awards, ‘MTV AT THE 2008 ARIA RED CARPET’ and now to its very own weekly half hour show.
