THE GAME “LAX TOUR 2009”
FamousVibes & BSE Present direct from the West Coast
THE GAME “LAX TOUR 2009”
LA born rapper The Game single-handedly brought the West Coast back when he burst onto the scene with his album, The Documentary, which is considered one of the strongest debut albums in hip hop history. He is also the only West Coast solo artist to release a multi-platinum album since Dr Dre’s 1999 classic, 2001. With millions of albums sold worldwide, and a reputation as one of hip hop’s most energetic and explosive performers, his live shows are unmissable. And now, Australian fans will get to see one of hip hop’s finest when The Game makes his way down under for his LAX Tour 2009.
The Game started his early career studying various influential rap albums by the likes of 2Pac, Biggie, N.W.A and Ice Cube. Having gotten involved in the drug trade after a rough childhood, it took being shot in a home invasion to cause an epiphany in the young man. There was a reason he had been spared. He had never rapped before but was a natural. He absorbed the styles of his favourite rappers and made them his own – Biggie’s clear delivery and breathtaking visuals, Tupac’s articulate rage, NWA’s don’t give a damn attitude, and Ice Cube’s ability to balance ghetto politics with gangsta tales – and made it all his own. By the time Dr. Dre heard his stuff, he knew he had a star in the making and the streets started talking: The Game was no joke. The buzz was enormous for the release of his debut album “The Documentary”. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard chart and cemented his status as the hottest thing in hip-hop.
Not that he had much time to enjoy his new found fame and success. The rapper had more beefs than a butcher shop when it came to a number of other rappers, but his massive public fallout with 50 Cent and G-Unit reached epic levels. Though their rivalry stayed musical (through youtube stunts and diss songs), by the time it was all over, The Game left Dr. Dre’s Aftermath and set himself up on Geffen Records and released his sophomore effort “The Doctors Advocate”. The album again debuted at Number One on the Billboard Chart and received critical acclaim worldwide.
The Game’s third album L.A.X was released in 2008 with many claiming this album was in fact his best. Rumours have continued to circulate that this will be The Game’s last album, but until he hangs it up, he is gonna keep acting (like he did in the recent hit film “Street Kings” opposite Keanu Reeves), and best believe he is gonna keep rapping. He can’t help it. It’s in his blood. It’s a part of his psyche. His soul.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see one of hip hop’s best performing all his hits, “How We Do”, “Hate It Or Love It”, “Let’s Ride”, “My Life”, “Games Pain”, “Let’s Ride”, “Wouldn’t Get Far” and many more.
