GRAMMY WINNING, MULTI-PLATINUM, CHART-TOPPING SONGWRITER, NE-YO, ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND TOUR - YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN
Grammy award winner, RIAA platinum Def Jam recording artist and chart topping songwriter Ne-Yo will embark on a five city Australian and New Zealand concert tour starting in Sydney on Saturday 7 November 2009.
The live concert dates are a celebration of his award winning third album - Year of the Gentleman. It is the follow-up to Because of You (released May 2007), which received this year’s Grammy Award or Best Contemporary R&B Album and In My Own Words (February 2006) - both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts.
In addition to penning this new collection, Ne-Yo once again showed his writing prowess, penning lyrics for Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige and Celine Dion as well as the chart topping, record breaking Grammy nomiated song “Irreplaceable” for Beyonce.

Bringing R&B a dose of class and elegance, Ne-Yo first hit the big time with the release of his multi-million selling, world-wide smash debut album “In My Own Words” in 2006. The first single off the album “So Sick” debuted at number one on the Billboard Chart and became a hit across the world. He followed this up with the sophomore album “Because Of You”, and then took swagger to the next level on his Grammy nominated album “Year Of The Gentleman” in 2008. Not only has Ne-Yo had huge success in his own right, but he has also written smash hits for a plethora of artists including Rihanna, Mario, Janet Jackson and of course one of the highest selling singles of 2006/2007 “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce. In the winter of 2005, southern soulster T-Pain burst on the rhythmic scene with his debut “Rappa Ternt Sanga” and things just ain’t been the same since! “Beautiful Monster,” Ne-Yo’s first major single release in more than a year and a half, is also the first early warning shot from his upcoming new album. Untitled as of this writing, it will be his first long-player since the RIAA platinum Year Of The Gentleman debuted at #1 on the Soundscan and UK national charts in September 2008. That album spun off the triumvirate of consecutive RIAA platinum hits above: “Closer,” “Miss Independent,” and “Mad.”
Year Of The Gentleman went on to generate a league-leading total of five Grammy Award nominations in 2009 - with “Miss Independent” winning for Best R&B Song (songwriters award) and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Ne-Yo, two-time BET Award-winning Best Male R&B Artist, founded The Compound Foundation which is committed to service at-risk and disadvantaged youth.
