F.A.M.E. worldwide tour starts in Australia!
Australia 20 January 2011; Jive Live is proud to announce that global superstar CHRIS BROWN will be heading to Australia for his F.A.M.E. tour this April/May with special guests Australia’s own Jessica Mauboy, Justice Crew and DJ Havana Brown.
In an exciting coup, Australia is the first stop on the worldwide F.A.M.E. tour with concerts announced today for Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth [full details below].
Managing Director of Jive Live, Daniel Pritchard says “Australia will be the first country in the world to be able to see the new Chris Brown show. His incredible stage performances have earned him a reputation as one of this generation’s most electrifying male performers.”
Chris Brown is currently enjoying global success with the first single “YEAH 3X” from his new album F.A.M.E. due for release in March. “YEAH 3X” is currently sitting at #5 on the ARIA singles chart and has already achieved double platinum status in Australia. The song was instantly embraced with healthy radio play on Austereo and Nova – receiving across the board adds at both networks upon release and is currently the #3 most played song on Australian radio.
No doubt Chris Brown will bring his smooth moves with him on the tour, with comparisons having been made to Michael Jackson, Usher and even Stevie Wonder during his career. His gold selling debut album “Chris Brown” earned him Grammy Nominations, and it won Billboard, Soul Train, BET and Nickelodeon Awards. His second album “Exclusive”, released in 2007 became a Top 5 ARIA Double Platinum album and spawned the smash hits “Wall to Wall”(Platinum), “With You”(Double Platinum), “Kiss Kiss”(Double Platinum) and “Forever”(Triple Platinum). The release of “Graffiti” in 2009 cemented his chart topping power with the lead single “I Can Transform Ya” which reached platinum sales.
Australia’s own queen of R’n’B Jessica Mauboy has now reached gold status with her second album “Get Em Girls”. The album has produced two top ten, platinum selling hits: “Get Em Girls” featuring iconic rapper Snoop Dogg, and “Saturday Night” featuring the legendary Ludacris. Her album features some of the world’s biggest and best urban producers including Jazze Pha and Bangladesh, and also features appearances by Jay Sean and Iyaz.
Justice Crew will be bringing a jaw dropping show featuring world class dance styles and incredible athleticism on the tour. Hailing from Sydney, Justice Crew danced their way into the hearts of the Australian public during the 2010 season of Australia’s Got Talent. The Crew have gone on to release two back to back gold singles “And We Dance” and “Friday To Sunday”.
This will be the second time that DJ Havana Brown is supporting Chris Brown. As one of Australia’s most exciting talents, Havana has been making waves all over the world. Australia’s leading female DJ has supported some of the biggest international stars including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, and of course Chris Brown. Havana has her own radio show on the Austereo network and her gold selling “Crave” mixtapes constantly hit the top of the ARIA Charts.

Chris Brown arrives in Adelaide
Chris Brown flew into Adelaide Sunday morning to prepare for the first show of his worldwide F.A.M.E. tour which kicks off on Wednesday night at the Entertainment Centre. Some of the Team Breezy’s (as they’re known) were on hand to meet him. Team Breezy is a worldwide fan club run by Chris’ aunty Christine out of the US. Michelle Samaras (holding the Team Breezy sign) is the Team Breezy leader in Adelaide and was recruited by Aunty Christine. Chris was happy to stop and chat and sign autographs…paying testament to FANS ARE MY EVERYTHING (what F.A.M.E. stands for).
Some info about Team Breezy:
Team Breezy is Chris Brown’s global fan club. There are approx. 40 ‘Street Team Leaders’ worldwide who have been hand-picked by Christine Brown (Chris Brown’s aunty). A full list of leaders can be found here: http://www.planetchrisbrown.com/ (right column)
The Team Leaders are responsible for spreading the good word about Chris and promoting any upcoming projects – tours, albums, releases etc. They each have their own Twitter and/or Facebook page to recruit other Team Breezy members online. They also distribute posters/flyers etc.
Each week (early Sunday mornings) the Team Leaders around the world have a conference call with Christine to update her on their progress.
