At first I was a bit sceptical when I got this album, because lets be honest T.I Vs T.I.P was a little bit dicey to say the least. Now I’m not a hater he has had a couple of tracks that have sat well with me, but I thought this guy simply got by on his looks and smartly taken collaborations with other artists. T.I’s prior lyrical content hasn’t really made me think of him as intellectual MC, but to my surprise T.I has plenty to offer in this album, through speaking on his personal troubles such as his facing jail time it gives us a personal look at T’I’s current emotional state, as he still has the desire to be the best southern rapper in the game.

Paper Trail is some of T.I’s Best Work but besides stepping up his lyrics and his subject matter and his ability to tell good story on this album, guest artists have been strong. Helping this album along is the number of quality of good album tracks with high profile artists, such as, John legend, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kanye West, Rihanna, Ludacris and more. Usually songs featuring with big hitting artists crash and burn, though T.I song selection and production did a decent job on show casing these stars to their best ability.

Stand out tracks have to be ‘Whatever You Like’ which when ever I see the video clip cracks me up, lyrically one of the worst but I don’t care. It’s cheesy and full of swagger, I love it! Another track that I’m sure will probably be one of his next singles is ‘Live Your Life’ featuring the Barbados beauty Rihanna, which I think will have a massive pop appeal to the mainstream. And finally probably my favourite is ‘Swagger like Us’ which samples one of my favourite tracks at the moment from M.I.A. This track truly features and all-star cast With the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, providing their unrivalled heat I truly thought T.I would be buried in this track by the talents of the rest, but T.I shows his class, as he holds his head high through the track finishing strongly, and probably one of the best verses on the album.

Paper trail will definitely satisfy the T.I fans out there and will no doubt gain him new ones, a solid effort.
