triple j & triple j tv are proud to present Phrase in his first nation wide headline tour. Phrase is hitting the road with his band to perform tracks from his critically acclaimed triple j feature album Clockwork.

Forget what you knew about him. His acclaimed APRA and ARIA nominated debut album, Talk With Force, was yesterday. Clockwork is not only about the now. It’s about the next.

Arguably crafting the countries boldest Hip-Hop release to date, Phrase’s Clockwork has smashed genres and brought “rap” as an artform closer to the fraternity of Australia’s rock-driven industry.

Phrase never ceases to amaze when it comes to a collaboration. Opting to avoid the clich concept of “I’m going to do a track with every rapper I know”, Phrase has consistently broken the mold through his collabrations with artists such as Kram (Spiderbait), Wendy Matthews, Ian Kenny (Karnivool/Birds of Tokyo) & Jackson Jackson.

Phrase is more than just a lyricist. He is a musician.

And Phrase’s live show will reflect that. On selected shows Phrase will be giving punters the full Clockwork experience live with a 5 piece band plus a string section along with some special surprise guests from Phrase’s album. Not to mention there will be an exciting visual element to the show coming from Phrase’s longtime DJ Flagrant who will be showcasing his patent-pending “Television Turntables”.

Supported by Sydney’s Snob Scrilla, Melbourne’s Illy & Australia’s #1 beat maker M-Phazes, Phrase’s Official Clockwork Album Launch Tour tour kicks off in September and will smash its way through 23 cities over 3 months!
