Renowned for her energetic live performances, female vocalist and MC, Karoline Tamati (aka. Ladi6), will be touring Australia throughout May, June and July with a series of spectacular solo and support shows. Along the way, she will be sharing stages with the likes of De La Soul and The Nextmen!
Achieving Gold sales in her home country of New Zealand thanks to her sublime, soulful vocals and socially conscious lyrics, Ladi6 released her debut album ‘Time Is Not Much’ in Australia in March to rave reviews and huge excitement. Co-produced by Mu from Fat Freddy’s Drop and upcoming beatsmith Parks, ‘Time Is Not Much’ also features multiple guest appearences from hip-hop superstar, Scribe.
Having performed in Australia throughout 2008/2009 as part of St. Kilda Festival, Days Like This!, and SoCo Cargo, Ladi6 has worked her way into the consciousness of local audiences, just have they have made a lasting impression on her. “I’ve been loving Australia, and all the places we’ve played so far!,” she says. “The crowds are so responsive and fun.” These travels have seen her support international touring acts including Talib Kweli, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Shapeshifter, Scribe, Ohmega Watts, Resin Dogs, and Freddie Cruger.
With her first lot of shows to kick of in just under a month’s time, Australia’s love affair with Ladi6 looks only to thrive. Ladi6 looks forward to more time in the country: “We have met some awesome people and have been treated amazingly well everywhere we’ve roamed so far. But I still want to keep roaming, we have a lot of Australia to go!”
