Michael Jackson - The Remix Suites I - V

After the recent death of pop legend Michael Jackson, and still fresh from a spate of memorials and celebrations to his genius, Universal Motown has released a new album dedicated the king of pop called “Michael Jackson the Remix Suite”. Sparing no expense Universal has enlisted the hottest producers in the game to pay homage to Michael Jackson by remixing their favorite tracks from The Jackson 5’s timeless catalog of classics and jams.

There has to be a lot of pressure for the producers on this album, for the simple fact that they want to excel amongst their peers. They did reasonable job for the majority of the album, but what limits these remixes are the song selections with some artists choosing to remix the same song.

Stargates ’Skywriter’ remix is one of the better tracks on the album with more electro pop feel to it. A major disappointment for me was the Neptune’s version of ‘Never Say Goodbye’ by their standards the production is mediocre and never evolves, it just sounds like an old Neptunes beat. Polow’s version of dance machine is probably the pick of the bunch, and doubt will be played in clubs soon, as it has some tight heavy synth of over some cool percussion. It is just a remix album, but it is pretty good one at that, get if you cant get enough of the king.
