Michael Jackson dies at 50
Legendary super star Michael Jackson has died this morning, at the age of 50.
While the circumstances of his death are unclear, it is reported that medics arrived at his home in Los Angeles and found Jackson not breathing. It is said that they were unable to revive him, despite rushing him to the UCLA medical centre around 12.30pm Los Angeles time.
The news of his death has shocked the world. The pop legend was due to kick off his greatest comeback tour with an unprecedented 50 shows in London, with the first show scheduled for 13th July. Tour officials had confirmed over the last weeks that the star was in the best shape of his life.
Although the Jackson family are yet to release an official statement, hundreds of press and fans have gathered outside UCLA medical centre where multiple reports from inside the hospital have confirmed the legend’s demise.
Michael’s death has brought a shocking end to a career dazzled with high and lows. Known as the most influential artist of his time, Jackson single handedly changed the face of pop music, dance and music videos. His 1982 album “Thriller” remains the highest selling album of all time.
Although his fame began to spiral into a media frenzy over the last decade, with charges of child molestation in 2005 and a range of bizarre allegations about his sexual orientation, plastic surgery, his children, relationships and serious financial trouble, Michael Jackson always has and forever will remain the much adored King of Pop.
