Maxwell - BLACK Summer’s night

The soul man is finally back, after being MIA for the longest time. After having so much success with his classic albums in early 90’s like “Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite” earning him double platinum status plus whole fan base of females and Neo Soul lovers around the world.

Smooth soul is what he’s famous for, making music that creates mood rather than groove. His slow tempo beats and incredible vocal range separates him from the rest. Always overlooked by mainstream radio stations ‘Maxwell’ has always stayed true to what he does best, Singing.
It seems the seven-year absence has not changed his ability to create good music. Debuting at No. 1 on the American Billboard Charts ‘Maxwell’s’ “BLACK summer’s Night” is pleasing old fans while creating a bunch of new ones.

There is velvety smoothness to the slow jams especially to the lead break-up song single “Pretty Wings’ that is delivered exceptionally with simple and direct tones. And another great track is “Fistful of tears” which features soft falsetto touches and trilling backing vocals that don’t overwhelm you like a “beyonce” track. Maxwell’s BLACK summer’s night is probably a couple of tracks short of being a great album, but is certainly a solid return for the crooner.
