#1 Hot Fun – N.E.R.D feat Nelly Furtado
Yes yes yes, finally a half-decent track from Pharrell & Chad. It’s well been over five years since the release of their brilliant debut album and unfortunately for us, they been churning out crap song after crap song since those golden early days. But all is forgiven with this new monster Hot Fun. It’s a delectable dance floor delight and Nelly Furtado’s sweet vocals set it off rather nicely. Fingers crossed that they keep it up and deliver THE album that we’ve all been waiting for.

Trina talks Lil Wayne n stuff.
Former couple and Hip-Hop stars Lil Wayne and Trina have made amends after hooking up for a new track called Currency which will appear on Trina’s upcoming fifth album Amazin’. The track also features fellow Slip-N-Slide artist Rick Ross and was recorded before Wayne began his one year prison sentence for weapon possession charges. Trina offered Wayne words of wisdom before he went into prison and added that she has no hard feelings towards him despite their past. “It’s not like a speaking thing, we don’t really talk,” Trina admitted. “I mean I’m working, he’s working. He came to my birthday party for a little while which was nice.” “I wish him well; I sent my wishes and everything for him to go through the transitions that he has to go through while he’s away and doing his time. I don’t wish that on anybody, so I know that all wishes means a lot to him. He has a huge camp. I know they’re going to be there to give him the support and encouragement he needs to move through this, and like I said, I just wish him the best and wish he gets out of his situation and continues back to music, where he belongs.” In other news, Trina recently launched a cosmetics line which will feature personalized products such as lip gloss, perfume, and eye lashes all for everyday usage or for extravagant events. Trina also has a clothing line in the works called Diamond Girl which is aimed for full-figured women. “It’s a beautiful line, I’ve worked with so many different designers that I wasn’t too pleased with the work, so I put a stop to it and revamped it. So now the jeans are actually to fit curvy, bodacious, beautiful women.”

J-Lo’s ex set to sell honeymoon tapes.
Ojani Noa, the former husband of Jennifer Lopez, is reportedly bankrupt as a result of his long court battle with the actress/singer, and he wants to put their personal home video tapes up for auction to help with his debt. The tapes are at the root of their legal squabble, which started last year, when Noa attempted to use parts of the footage in a movie he was creating about his life. Lopez filed a $10 million suit against him in November 2009 and blocked the release of any of the footage, and thereby held up his movie.  “The lawsuit put me through so much pain and frustration,” said Noa to the New York Post. “I’m losing everything.” Noa’s plan is to declare bankruptcy and sell his assets including his car and personal belongings at a public auction, but Lopez’ lawyers want to make sure that the tapes are not a part of the package. “Both the preliminary injunction and the permanent injunction are still in force and effect,” said Lopez’ attorney, John Lavely. “Offering for sale or selling the videotape would constitute a willful violation.” According to Noa, the legal battle is not only effecting the production of his movie because backers “are afraid to invest in the project” but also his other avenues of income. “I can’t go to work because anytime I go to a casting, people are afraid to hire me because of the judgement on my head,” he explained. “[They are] skeptical [because] of what I’m going through.”

DMX sues over royalties.
Embattled rapper DMX is suing an entertainment company for helping themselves to his royalties over the last few years. In the lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, X says that Rich Kid Entertainment has taken 100% of the funds stemming from a contract signed nearly a decade ago, when they were only entitled to 10%. According to the Yonkers, NY-born rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, Rich Kid Entertainment was only hired to handle the copyright of foreign sales from his 1998 recordings, but in addition to that they made deals allowing record labels the right to reproduce his work without prior approval.
"DMX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has had #1 singles and albums on the Billboard charts, which in turn have generated a great amount of revenue for the defendants, but has left [DMX] with nothing,” reads the suit. X, 39, credits his constant run-ins with the law for allowing the theft to continue on for so long. He is currently in jail in Maricopa County, Arizona for violating the terms of his probation from a 2008 animal abuse case. At the time of his arrest earlier this year, he was reportedly working on a new album. DMX is seeking one million USD dollars in damages.

Ice Cube and Chris Tucker to reunite for Last Friday.
Fans may be in luck as multi-talented artist Ice Cube mentioned that the possibility of a part four to his infamous Friday films may be in the works. The first Friday, which co-starred comedian Chris Tucker, instantly became a classic after its release in 1995. Two sequels followed soon with Next Friday and Friday After Next, which featured comedian Mike Epps better known as Day-Day in the movie. While the sequels received a great response from most of the Hip-Hop community, Ice Cube knows that fans really want to see him and Chris Tucker to reunite for any future Friday films. “I want to. But I don’t want to do it without Chris Tucker,” he revealed in an interview. “That’s what people want. I really want to give people what they want, especially doing it for a fourth time. We can’t just go through a movie without giving the people exactly what they want. I’ve been trying to convince Chris to do it. Just say, ‘Yeah,’ it’s alright...I see Smokey working at a rehab center [laughs]. Craig and Day-Day are probably selling weed by now, get busted, have to go rehab with Smokey, try to convince Smokey to smoke a joint [laughs]. That’d be pretty cool.” Rumors surfaced on the internet back in 2007 that another sequel to the films would be called Last Friday which apparently were untrue. In related news, fans can see Ice Cube on the big screen at the end of this year in a drama film titled Rampart and also a comedy film titled Lottery Ticket.
