#1 – I Got A Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
It’s been a big week for B.E.P Boom Boom Pow reached the #1 position on the singles chart and 2 new tracks were leaked to the media from their forthcoming album (Imabee & I Got A Feeling) the later is a certified banger produced by European dance master David Guetta. If you’re a fan of his work, you’ll love this track as it’s got his trademark sound all over it.  And more than likely, this will be the second single.

Nick Cannon ends his beef with Eminem.
After unleashing a lengthy blog rant about Eminem over the lyrics to “Bagpipes From Baghdad,” Nick Cannon says the mini feud with Slim Shady is officially over. In a brief sit down with Entertainment Weekly, Cannon stuck by every word he wrote, even if the majority of fans on the Internet don’t agree. “I felt like I said what I had to say,” Cannon tells the publication. “I didn’t take the blog post down, like, Oh, somebody instructed me to do it or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it.” The composed Cannon sounds far different than the one who called out Eminem over disrespect to his wife, Mariah Carey, women in general, and black women in particular. “I feel that my relationship with my wife is one of the best things—or the best thing—that’s ever happened to me, and it has nothing to do with celebrity or this industry. It’s all about, you know, just love and finding love and being happy and respecting the union that it is.” At the end of the day, perhaps the only people to consider the brief war of words a “beef” was the media and some fans. “I never even considered it as beef. It’s not beef. It’s just, hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say.”

Jay Z confirms his split from Def Jam.
In an interview with RapRadar.com, Jay-Z verified that he will indeed be going independent, severing all ties from label Island/Def Jam. “Label boss Doug Morris and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique ‘negotiations’ ever,” Jay told the website. “Doug won the toss, but we both won in the end. I thank him for allowing me to become a completely independent artist.” After rumors and speculation that the former President and CEO of Def Jam may have bought back his recording contract for an alleged amount of USD $5 million, Jay’s deal with Morris (CEO of Universal Records) will give the rapper an opportunity to own and control the rights to all of his music, including his upcoming release, The Blueprint 3.
“For me, the process of making an album is difficult with so many things going on,” he told MTV.com earlier this year. “And me, I wanna make it beyond and above. I’m gonna take my time with it. I don’t have any quotas, and that’s a good thing.”
The upcoming album may just be the debut LP on the Roc Nation label (Jay-Z’s joint venture with Live Nation). In addition to his independent status, Jay has been occupied, signing new artists to the label.

Nas & Kelis - The saga continues….
Nas does not want to pay his soon-to-be ex-wife Kelis child support. Kelis, who filed for divorce April 30, is pregnant with the rapper’s child. The singer is due to deliver in weeks. In response to the divorce, Nas filed a request to the judge in order to deny Kelis the spousal support, and also wants her to pay for her own legal fees. Both Nas and Kelis want joint custody of their child. Kelis cited “irreconcilable differences” as a reason for the divorce, though rumors indicate that she believes Nas was unfaithful. Looks like this one’s about to get real messy!

It’s official – Rick Ross is a fake!
XXL magazine put Def Jam star Rick Ross on the cover of their current May issue. The rapper was photographed at close range, donning Louis Vuitton sunglasses. The publication learned, by way of letter to the editorial staff from Vuitton’s attorney, that those glasses were indeed fake, causing a lot of controversy for the famed designer brand, and perhaps the rapper. The letter claimed the glasses’ trademarks were “counterfeit,” and caused “confusion” for readers and consumers. The attorney also clarified that Vuitton has no known association with the rapper or the publication.
Cheapskate Ross has yet to comment on the claims.
