#1 As We Enter – Damian Marley & Nas
Well well well, the first track from the much talked about project between Nas & Jr. Gong has finally arrived and it meets all the expectations.  The only way to describe it is pure infectious dance floor fiya guaranteed to lift the roof off of any dancehall or hip hop club alike. If this track is an indication of things to come then I cant wait until the album Distant Relatives drops in early March.

Rapper B.G pleads not guilty!
Onetime Hot Boy member B.G. has entered an innocent plea in a New Orleans court. The plea was related to November gun charges that stemmed from a traffic violation, search & seizure., a previously convicted felon, was not allowed possession of a firearm. Four days after the arrest B.G explained his innocence saying, “I don’t know how the guns got in the vehicle. For all I know the police coulda put ‘em in the vehicle. But when I got in the vehicle, the guns wasn’t in there.” B.G was ordered by the judge to take a drug test next week. Late last year, B.G. released Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood with E1 Entertainment Atlantic Records, which was executive produced by T.I..

Dr. Dre sues Death Row Records
Hip hop producer & legend Dr. Dre has just filed a lawsuit against Death Row Records WIDEawake Entertainment citing that he has not received royalties due from his album The Chronic in over 14 years. Upon leaving Death Row Records in the mid-nineties Dr. Dre was no longer cut in on any of The Chronic’s profits. Even when the album was re-released last year as The Chronic Re-Lit he did not receive any kind of payment from the label.
“When it came to paying artist royalties and honoring limits on Dr. Dre recordings that could be released, the ‘new’ Death Row Records, to quote our client, ‘forgot about Dre,’” Howard King, Dr. Dre’s attorney, said in a statement. “This lawsuit will make sure they remember.”
Dr. Dre also claims that WIDEawake Entertainment, the company that bought Death Row Records, released The Chronic Re-Lit without his consent and that the company profited greatly from the re-release. Dr. Dre is suing for at least USD $75,000.  Death Row Records WIDEawake Entertainment have yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Busta gets ready to bust loose.
Busta Rhymes has announced that he will be dropping his ninth solo album in the upcoming months and that the album is tentatively scheduled for a fourth of July release. “[July 4th is] when it’s sizzling in these streets. I think that’s the most appropriate time to let go of this heat that I’m sitting on.” He said in his pres statement. The new album will be titled The Chemo and Busta implied that it is close to being done, as he is now adding the finishing touches. The work will be released through Flipmode/Universal Motown, and according to what Busta told XXLMag.com last month, will include production from Drake associate Boi 1da.

Konvict Music Africa’s first signing.
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has become the first African artist to be signed to Akon’s Konvict Music Africa label. According to AmeyawDebrah.com, the signing was made official at a press conference in Ghana last week. Aside from Sarkodie, Konvict International president Babs was on hand at the conference to answer any questions. Known as one of the fastest rappers in Ghana, Sarkodie is a popular Hiplife artist in the West African country. Hiplife is a genre of music that combines both Hip Hop and Ghana’s Highlife music. Sarkodie is currently at work on his sophomore album entitled Rapaholic. There is no word yet on if the album will be released through Konvict Music Africa.  Konvict Music Africa is hoping to sign more artists from Africa to its label.

The Game returns to Aftermath.
Rapper The Game has officially announced his return to Aftermath Records. The announcement, made via the Compton star rapper’s Twitter page, comes after pictures and statements already confirming Game’s musical reunion with one of his early mentors, Dr. Dre. Claiming, “It’s funny how things come full circle.  Having released his multi-platinum debut, The Documentary on G-Unit/Aftermath/Interscope in 2005, the Black Wall Street founder would later release his two subsequent releases 2006’s The Doctor’s Advocate and 2008’s L.A.X on Geffen Records. Many believed these actions were due to tension between Game and 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and even Interscope head Jimmy Lovine, Game has released the first track from the new album R.E.D and it’s the Sam Cooke sampling Shake, produced by Cool & Dre. What goes around comes around.
