#1 – Get Involved – Ginuwine feat. Timbaland & Missy Elliot
After the poor singles performance of Ginuwine’s 2005 album Back II da Basics, (His first album without a single to to chart on the US Hot 100), Ginuwine has a chance to reclaim some of the glory of his 90’s superstar days with this new track produced by the hitmaster himself, Timbaland. Ginuwine has declared that his upcoming album A Man’s Thoughts will feature a ‘grown and sexy sound’ and prove that ‘I never became irrelevant, I simply took a break.’ He has also publicly regretted not speaking to Timbo, the chief producer of his debut album, for over five years, stating that ‘a producer and artist often feel the need to make it on their own’. Ginuwine’s loyal fan base will be pleased they have overcome their differences to collaborate once again, and this classic Timbo beat will further cement Timbaland’s status as urban music’s kingmaker.

Kanye West pens philosophy book…and gets into beef with Pink
Kanye West declared that he would learn to tune down the ego after the famous South Park ‘Fishsticks’ episode in which he was parodied for declaring himself ‘the voice of the generation’ and ‘the most talented musician in the world.’ Unfortunately, two months later it seems the ego is kicking back into high gear! In an interview with MTV News, Kanye compared his rap ability to Michael Jackson’s singing and Michael Jordan’s basketball ability, announcing ‘it’s what I do- it’s time for another rap album.’ Kanye has also decided to take on another mantle- that of urban philosopher! Kanye’s first philosophy book, “Thank You and You’re Welcome”, hit stores in the US July 7th. Kanye’s book contains practical philosophies from his own life experience that he thinks will benefit all people, such as the philosophy of ‘being used’. Kanye states that being used by other people is the greatest indicator of personal usefulness, as long as you are not ‘misused’ or ‘over-used’. In other news, pop sensation Pink has declared war on Kanye West in an interview with FHM magazine while here in Australia. Pink is furious with Kanye’s love of fur, saying that he wouldn’t stop talking about fur during a fashion show in Paris. “There are so many people who I think are a waste of skin and he’s up there. I should wear him. Go on, donate yourself Kanye. People can wear your fur!”

RZA announces Hollywood epic starring Chris Brown and Rihanna
Anyone remember 1985 cult classic ‘The Last Dragon’, about an aspiring martial artist named ‘Bruce’ Leroy Green, on a journey to be the best fighter in the world; defeating the evil Shogun of Harlem, Sho’nuff, along the way? RZA, the mastermind producer and leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, plans to remake the soulful classic in style! In a recent interview with XXLmag.com, RZA said that he wants Chris Brown to take on the role of ‘Bruce’ Leroy. RZA has not yet confirmed what role Rihanna will have in the project. Asked whether the fact of Chris being accused of assaulting his former girlfriend would make any impact on his casting decision, RZA replied ‘Yeah, I think it adds even more of a dynamic so he could do good on the screen…I’m one of those directors who loves to get dynamic.” Let’s hope the on-screen chemistry isn’t too dynamic, RZA!

Irv Gotti renewing war with Eminem?
Eminem, recently putting out the fire on Bruno’s stunt at the MTV Awards by announcing that he was fully aware of the stunt beforehand, has a new problem to deal with: none other than old Murder Inc. rival, Irv Gotti. Irv has announced on MTV that he is upset with Vibe listing Eninem as #1 ‘Hottest MC in the Game’. Gotti branded Eminem’s singles as ‘clown shit’, saying ‘He’s clowning. Is that the #1? That’s not my #1 rapper, man.’ Gotti also mocked Eminem’s lack of a ‘ghetto upbringing’, stating that artists like Jay-Z, DMX and Ja Rule grew up on the streets, ‘battling with their guns out’, and a young Eminem would have never defeated any of them in an MC battle. Gotti also said he prefers Jay-Z as #1 rapper. Despite all Irv’s grumblings, Jay and Eminem reunited last week for a performance of their song, “Renegade”, live at the The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Check it out online!
