#1 The Fire Remix – The Roots feat B.O.B & John Legend.
When you throw talent artists of this caliber together, you know the end result is going to be something pretty special and in this case, the remix is exceptional. The added flava of B.O.B adds a whole new dimension to what was already a great track in its own right. Their new album titled How I Got Over is in stores now.

The woes of NAS continue.
When it comes to finances, Nas can’t quite seem to catch a break. News broke that Queensbridge legend is USD $52,989.22 behind on mortgage payments for the house of ex-wife Kelis. Now, in a payment plan etched out by his lawyer, Nas will be paying USD $17,500 up front for the remiss mortgage payments and double payments of USD $7,800 each month in order to catch up. The rappers house will be sold once the mortgage payments are complete. Nas still owes close to USD $300,000 in spousal support to Kelis.

Prince Paul releases a free album.
After producing De La Soul’s acclaimed trio of albums between 1989 and 1993 (3 Feet High & Rising, De La Soul Is Dead and Buhloon Mindstate), Long Island producer Prince Paul would go on to work with RZA and Da Gravediggaz. Just after that period, Paul, known originally for his role in 1980s Hip Hop band Stetsasonic, worked with local storied emcee Superstar.
The duo would record a 1995 album called Horror City. Despite Paul’s relationship with Tommy Boy Records and short-lived Doo Doo Man boutique imprint at Def Jam, he was unable to find a home for the work. Today, Paul released Horror City to fans online for free. “I sat on this project for a while but it always had a dear place in my heart because I thought it was really good and the talent was there,” said the producer in a statement today. Some of the instrumentals created by the Handsome Boy Modeling School producer would later end up on his 1999 sophomore solo album, Prince Among Thieves. Paul provided fans with this link to download the album.

Game day.
Desperado Entertainment filed a lawsuit naming Interscope, Aftermath and Universal Music Group in a lawsuit involving a royalty dispute with Rap artist The Game. The Los Angeles company alleges that UMG has not fulfilled their agreement to pay Desperado royalties from Game’s album sales, says The Hollywood Reporter. The suit, filed in a Los Angeles superior court, asserts that Desperado had a role in Game’s early success, leading up to his three albums released through UMG, totalling five million units sold. The company is motioning to delay Game’s August 24 release of R.E.D., in an effort to address the matter. Game and UMG has yet to speak publicly on the matter, or move the release date.

Fat Joe accused of sexual assault.
After having signed a new recording deal with E1 music this past March as well as gearing up for the summer release of his forthcoming album The Darkside Volume 1, Fat Joe seems to be experiencing quite a good streak. However, on Monday, the rapper was questioned by Wisconsin police after a woman accused the rapper and his entourage of physically “groping” her.
The 33-year old Madison woman claimed that she got into Fat Joe’s limo at 7p.m. following a concert at the Orpheum Theatre. At around 12:45 a.m. that Monday morning, the woman called police, claiming that she was a victim of a sexual assault that occurred in the vehicle.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Fat Joe’s attorney, Dawn Florio, called the allegations “false,” and suggested that the alleged victim was merely a “groupie pretender.”

"Rapper Joseph Cartagena, known as Fat Joe, members of his entourage and security staff were briefly questioned by members of the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department who were investigating false allegations made by a woman who initially posed as a fan and later claimed to be the victim of an assault after demanding money. “

The statement goes on, “At no point did Mr. Cartagena or any member of his entourage assault or have any improper contact with the woman. It is truly unfortunate that false allegations such as these cause the public to doubt the claims of actual victims of sexual assaults.” Fat Joe has not yet spoken publicly about the matter.
