KELLY ROWLAND ‘COMMANDS’ GLOBAL ATTENTION WITH NEW DAVID GUETTA-HELMED SINGLE “COMMANDER”

NEW ALBUM SET FOR SPRING 2010 RELEASE

Acclaimed Grammy-winning, multi-talented sensation Kelly Rowland is making her Universal Motown debut a truly global event.  Her debut single “Commander,” produced by renowned dance guru David Guetta, is getting an international kickoff from the label.

The international onslaught follows combustible club reaction to the futuristic-inspired smash, which burst through a competitive U.S. spring dance music rollout to garner the #1 Breakout spot on the Billboard Dance Club Chart.  Hailed as a the second colossal go-around for Kelly and French production impresario David Guetta, their top tier, 2009 Grammy winning smash, “When Love Takes Over,” from Guetta’s album, One Love, also became a global phenomenon, reaching the top spot in multiple countries including the UK. 

The scorching “Commander” was also written by Grammy winner Rico Love, whose songwriting credits include hits with Beyonce, Nelly, Usher, and others.  Kelly is also putting the finishing touches on an emotive new music video for “Commander,” directed by celebrated Japanese lensman Masashi Muto, and choreographed by Fatima Robinson.

Galvanised by an international, multi-platform strategic unveiling, the star vocalist’s much-buzzed about inaugural debut with Universal Motown is positioned perfectly, with a brand new album now scheduled for a fall 2010 release.  “David [Guetta] is a fabulous collaborator and a great friend,” stated Kelly.  “To be working with him again, coupled with the opportunity to launch a worldwide campaign with the amazing team at Universal Motown feels like the ultimate way to kick off this exciting new chapter of my career.  The opportunity to connect globally with all my fans and be able to reciprocate their love and support is making this a dream year.”

Along with Guetta, other collaborators on Kelly’s upcoming, third studio album — her first for Universal Motown — include Stargate, Dr. Luke, Ne-Yo, Salaam Remi, Esther Dean, and others.  Kelly has also been fully engaged in reaching out to her international fans, recently wowing the audience at Australia’s SuperFest, along with superstars such as Akon and others, and winding her way through a much-heralded trip through South Africa, pausing to record a song for South Africa’s hosting of one of 2010’s seminal World Cup Soccer Events, which commences in mid-June.  The song, “Everywhere You Go,” was recorded with an acclaimed gathering of revered South African stars joining Kelly.  The charismatic artist is also gearing up for European promo jaunts in June including a much anticipated Paris live reunion with David Guetta on June 25th.

Recognised as one of the most talented singers of our generation, Kelly has transformed her legendary success with multi-platinum superstar trio Destiny’s Child into a cascade of projects and pursuits emblematic of her range and depth as a multi-talented singer/songwriter/actress/TV personality and humanitarian.  Her combined worldwide record sales now totals in the dozens of millions, with two acclaimed solo albums under her belt, and a cadre of #1 hits including the multi-platinum “Dilemma,” featuring Nelly, and the aforementioned “When Love Takes Over,” among others.  Known for balancing a growing expanse of a wide range of entertainment avenues, she has experienced diverse successes as co-host of the hit Bravo series The Fashion Show, enjoyed recurring roles in the hit TV series’ The Hughleys and American Dream, while also appearing in a host of noted movie roles and maintaining a relevant and sizzling online presence, as well.
