Jay Z - The Blueprint 3

Jay-Z is would have to be the biggest name in urban scene and has been for a long damn time. He has had 10 No. 1 albums, and he runs more business and franchises than easily any other hip hop mogul out there, I mean come on the dude has featured in Forbes magazine!

A lot has to be admired about the man who is already regarded amongst peers as one of the greats; really Jay-Z is the definition of the American dream. Coming from the streets and having nothing as a kid, to now earning an average of a cool $30 million a year is truly living the dream.

So now going for his 11th No. 1 album “The Blueprint 3” has just been released through ‘Warner’ worldwide, and the anticipation is huge considering the other “Blueprints” are regarded as his best work to date. Easing the burden Jay-Z has acquired some of the best producer around. Usually in the Rap game it is the producers that have the power, But when it comes to Jigga man it’s whole different story, having the best producers you can get at his beck and call. With the likes of Kanye West, Timbaland, The Neptunes, And Swizz Beats the list doesn’t get much sweeter to pick from.

Some of the tracks on this album do remind you of the calibre of Emcee he really is. He has the ability to make the listeners listen to every word he says as only he can deliver. “Death of Auto-Tune” the first single released, takes a creative shot at the audio manipulating software used practically by all POP songs at the moment. Then there is the current single “Run This Town” with all star cast of Kanye and Rihanna. To be honest, I don’t really like this song at all, and there are way better tracks on the album. “A Star is born” The heavy sampled track telling the story of past and present Emcee’s is an instant classic.

The “Blueprint 3” is already a great album, I don’t think people should try and compare it to previous “Blueprints”. There is no better rapper at the moment and hopefully he continues to drop more heat for a long time to come.
