New Album Rock Dust Light Star Out October 29

With a career lasting (so far) an era-defying 18 years, Jamiroquai has sold over 25 million copies of their seven albums! From November 19 to November 23 Jamiroquai – Jay Kay and his band teammates, will be in Australia for what is set to be one almighty promotional tour!!

The blistering, poetic, meaty, reflective and inspiring new album Rock Dust Light Star (out October 29), Kay’s eighth album and his first for new label Mercury/Universal Music, is the result of two years work. Although admittedly, in that time Kay also learnt how to fly helicopters.

The first taste of the new album, the single “White Knuckle Ride”, is a rattling synth-disco tune, “It developed over a period of time. But lyrically, the main part of it, once I was on it, was 15, 20 minutes really.” Click HERE to watch the video for “White Knuckle Ride”. Jamiroquai will perform this track along with other hits from Rock Dust Light Star and some past fan favourites at the invite only Take 40 Australia party on Saturday November 20. The exclusive harbour mansion party will showcase the magnificent Sydney Harbour as a backdrop.

Rock Dust Light Star came together at Kay’s home studio in Buckinghamshire; at the legendary Hook End Manor in Oxfordshire and in Thailand.  Produced by Charlie Russell, Brad Spence and Jay Kay.

It’s the same sheer joy at the power of ideas and music that has made Jamiroquai one of the greatest live bands around.  In the past few months Jamiroquai have been dusting off their moves with a handful of headline shows at European festivals, and a gig supporting Stevie Wonder in London’s Hyde Park.  They’re a band on fire, led by one of the most charismatic frontmen Britain has ever produced, with a shelf-full of awards, including five MTV gongs, an Ivor Novello and a Grammy to name a few.
