With 7 million album sales under his belt, the undisputed global hip-hop-pop superstar right now is AKON and he will be in Australia this October!

Akon with special guest T-Pain and Melbourne duo Phinesse will be performing two shows as part of his Konvict Music Tour – 26th October at Hisense Arena in Melbourne and 27th October at the Acer Arena in Sydney. 

Akon has featured on our radio and in our charts since 2005 when he featured on New Zealand Rapper Savage’s Top 10 single ‘Moonshine’. He has continued to have his own chart success with ‘Locked Up’ and ‘Lonely’ from his debut album ‘Trouble’, to ‘Smack That’ featuring Enimen, ‘I Wanna Love You’ featuring Snoop Dogg and ‘Don’t Matter’ from his Grammy nominated 2006 release ‘Konvicted’.  In December 2008 Akon released his third album ‘Freedom’ which has so far delivered two gold singles:  Right Now (Na Na Na) and ‘Beautiful’ feat. Colby O’Donis & Kardinal Offishall. There will be a special tour edition of ‘Freedom’ with the inclusion of ‘Sexy Bitch’ released on the 25th September.

Akon will be performing all his hits with a full band as well as special renditions of tracks he has featured as guest on including the number 1 smash single by David Guetta ‘Sexy Bitch’.  Akon is accredited with over 200 guest appearances and 32 Billboard Hot 100 songs. He is also the first solo artist to accomplish the feat of holding both the number 1 and 2 spot simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 chart twice.

Akon is a man of many talents. An astute businessman with two record labels, a fashion line-Konvict Apparrel and dear to his heart, his own charity for underprivileged children in Africa called Konfidence Foundation.  (An elementary school in the singer’s home country of Senegal has already been built, with a hospital being developed).

Special guest on the Konvict Music Tour is the famous hip hop singer song writer & producer T- PAIN. T-Pain embraces both the old-school and current R&B.  In 2005, his debut album Rappa Ternt Sanga spawned the hits “I’m Sprung” and “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)”. In 2007 he had his first number 1 album in the States with Epiphany’ which delivered the Grammy nominated track ‘Bartender’ and hit ‘Buy U A Drank’ feat. Yung Loc.

T-Pain has produced or featured on numerous hits for other rappers and R&B singers including Ciara, Ludacris, Chris Brown, Kayne West and Flo-rida to name a few. He has also had over 10 top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and in 2008 won a Grammy with rapper Kanye West for the single “Good Life”. In 2009 he was rated #34 of the most influential people in the world on the Time 100 list.
