Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
Celebrity photographer Connor Mead is no different to the average red blooded bachelor. He loves freedom, fun and lost and lots of women. On the eve of his brother’s wedding, Connor gets a wake-up call from the ghost of his late Uncle Wayne, Connor’s idol, and a legendary ladies man himself. Connor soon finds himself on a reflective journey through a lifetime of failed relationships from the past, present and future.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas, this romantic comedy is exactly what one would expect. It is predictable and lacks originality. There are, however, enough laughs and tender moments to make it a romantic comedy and if you can forgive his character’s flaws and the few awkward moments during the film, it is a consolation that McConaughey does not fail to please the eyes.
I may not have recommended this for the movie goer, but if you are looking for the text-book romantic comedy to borrow this weekend, and are a fan of McConaughey and Garner, then look no further.
