FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SYDNEY, FRIDAY 19 JUNE: Falls Creek, Victoria, has today been announced by MTV Networks Australia as the location for the third annual MTV Snow Jam 2009. Bringing the event local for the first time ever, Falls Creek will provide the backdrop for the free live music event featuring local and internationally acclaimed acts Cut Copy DJ’s and Phrase. MTV Snow Jam will take place on Thursday 30 July and will be aired on MTV Australia on Saturday 15 August at 5:00pm (AEST).

This year, for the first time, we are bringing Snow Jam home to Australia to showcase the beautiful landscape of Victoria’s Falls Creek. Falls Creek has an international reputation for staging world class ‘freeride’ events and tied with MTV’s Snow Jam will create an electric atmosphere.

MTV Snow Jam will be held directly in front of the recently opened Quay West Resort & Spa Falls Creek, Australia’s only ski-in, ski-out, 5-star alpine resort and spa. Located at the base of the main ski runs of Falls Creek, The Alta Restaurant at the Quay West Resort & Spa will be the venue offering celebrities, performers and assorted VIPs uninterrupted views of the valley, mountains, ski fields and of course the action packed show that will be MTV Snow Jam.

Following on from a huge year touring the world promoting the release of their number 1 charting album, In Ghost Colours (including sold out shows in Australia, United States, UK & Europe), Cut Copy have returned home to focus on the recording of their third album. They are also placing the spotlight on their Cutters Records label in association with limited Cut Copy DJ sets. Renowned for their eclectic mixed tapes and remixes as well as producing gorgeous music, the Cut Copy DJ’s invite one and all to an event of inter-dimensional disco rhythms, Chicago house and futuristic pop.

Phrase successfully ushered in a new era of Australian Hip-Hop when he launched onto the scene in 2005. The ARIA and APRA Award nominated Australian Hip Hop MC has since performed across the country with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Daniel Merriweather, Bliss N Eso, Mark Ronson, Mobb Deep, Method Man & Redman, Rahzel, Scribe, Pegz and DJ Premier. Phrase will get the party started with tracks from his latest album Clockwork including Spaceship and his new smash, All Good.
