Hey fam.
Thanks for messaging on grooveon about the single. For some reason I can’t log in to my WHOISISRAEL login to post this up myself (U block me jon? haha)
For real, I appreciate the feedback on the single. And I know there are a lot of mixed reactions from the single. Some people absolutely love it and some people dont. But regardless, the support on radio has been insane, and remember peeps- we are independent. This is done through our own imprint The Nufirm (Independent Record Label). So having the 5th most added track to radio is a big deal… some artists that are signed to major labels can’t achieve this. This means that local RnB/Pop/Urban whatever you wanna call it is on its way up.
I did get told by my boy Fluke that he didn’t like this single at all. But I did a mailout to all the djs i could nationwide with 2 joints to service and gave our Djs a chance to have their input on which song they felt was a better joint for a single and Freak tonight came out on top!
On Friday, it landed at number 16 on the nation wide Hot30! We hope for it to keep rising so please vote for it.
Poppa- You def don’t have the album… I am sure you will be pleased with the outcome my dude. I’ve kept the album mega fresh and competitive to my world competition.
As far as Gemini- nah, we didn’t take it to radio at all… Remember it leaked.. and set me back pretty majorly. I can understand if people are unsure about whether my album or singles have been out or not because of the leaks… but “Freak tonight” is the first single I have had out in 4 years! All the leaks have caused me to stay in the studio and make as much fresh shit as i can for the fans and for my peeps. And on a side note, for those that think that we leak our music purposely- nope we didnt. (thanks to german hacker kid crew Blacknbeats vibes and other hacker crews lol)
Yo honestly, its a great time to get behind local talent. I wrote the new Jessica Mauboy single “Been Waiting” and produced it. So make sure you peep that joint, she needs your support too.
Hopefully I and The Nufirm can have 2 top 20 singles over the next month with these two releases, and if so… then it will open a lot of Music industry/Radio/TV/Media doors that were recently closed to local RnB/Hip hop over the last few years.
Your support, encouragement, advise, and criticism is vital at this time.
And coming from the inside, if we are going to do anything about Local RnB/Hiphop/Urban music then now is the time!
YEah ya’ll!
Holla
