This might be really dumb, but can someone explain what “Jackin’” is? I’ve always wondered.

the way i define jackin is that in general its more up tempo, louder kicks & snares, has a very stabby up & down feel to it, more party vibe stuff, less melodic than the more traditional variants of house, just real good party house, its about 2 steps away from annoying doof doof. Anyo prodominantly plays jackin stuff.

Where does Maurice Joshua sit in the grand scheme of things these days? Still respected or no? Cos i’ve liked most stuff I’ve heard by him, so can anyone point me in the direction of other producers of that style of house?
