After a few meaty months of anticipation and speculation, the curtain was set to finally be drawn on the 2011 lineup for the Good Vibrations festival early tomorrow morning, but as is seemingly the case in the modern age of the internet, the whole shebang has leaked early.
A Good Vibes media partner seemingly jumped the gun and published a poster version of the 2011 lineup this afternoon, only to hastily remove it. But eagle eyed forum hounds were quick to screenshot the leak and now we know some of the acts that festival organisers Jam Music will be bringing our way this summer.
Coming in at the top of the bill on the leaked version of the lineup are long-time Australian hold-outs Faithless, who’ll at last make good on their promise to return to the country and parade their new album The Dance. Also joining the fray are French crossover kings Phoenix and the mighty Sasha himself.
As ever, the 2011 GVF lineup looks to offer plenty of diversity for music fans featuring an enviable hip-hop lineup with the likes of Ludacris, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu and Cee-Lo Green stacking up along with indie dance groups Friendly Fires and Miike Snow and plenty of DJs including Rusko and Sidney Sampson. And there’s even former husband and wife Kelis and Nas.
We have to stress that this leaked lineup is indeed just that and we could see a different looking list when the scheduled announcement lands tomorrow morning. When ITM contacted Jam Music for a statement on the leak, the festival crew could only say that the full Good Vibrations lineup will be announced at 9AM tomorrow.
