Another Diva dives
Paulini Curuenavuli has bailed out of The Young Divas, following Jessica Mauboy’s decision that solodom was far better. Paulini is working on a solo album and will road test them later this year with an acoustic show that’ll show off the gospel vocal.
That now leaves Kate DeAraugo and Emily Williams although the buzz is that a whole new Divas lineup will be put together.
The whole Young Divas has been a contentious point for the artists involved. Initially, they were formed because SonyBMG didn’t think their solo records were selling enough. The gals thought it was for a single only. SonyBMG and their management had other thoughts!
And don’t expect Ricki-Lee Coulter to step back in the breach either. Speaking on Perth’s 92.9FM breakfast show, on whether she’d record with The Young Divas: “Already went there, not interested anymore. We haven’t spoken for a while.”
On DeAraugo having to quit as fatty buster Jenny Craig spokesperson because she was lactose intolerant: “How unfortunate, what a shame, poor girl, poor thing.”
