Thoughts? I’ve seen it twice now, and think im gradually getting a better grasp of it all, though will need a couple more views to be decided.

I’m in the “the whole movie is a dream” camp. Where Cobb has planted an idea in Saito’s dream, to get him to recruit him to plant an idea in Fischer’s head, with the goal of eventually getting back to his kids. But that is a construct, and his kids are really back in the real world with Mal, whilst Cobb is actually stuck in limbo with Saito, and has created this idea that Mal is dead and the kids are waiting for him to come home.

It’s funny. Everyone I’ve talked to about it says they got the movie 100%, but they all have a different opinion of it. And that is (i believe) as it should be. I think the purpose of the movie was for people to come to their own conclusions. Although everyone has their own perspective, none of them are necessarily wrong. It’s meant to generate lots of discussion, just as the Matrix did.

I’ve read a few different opinions on the net, and i found the wedding ring theory the most interesting.

The whole movie, is Nolan planting an idea in the viewer’s head. The movie itself is supposed to interpret a dream that each individual recalls differently and has vague ideas about it afterwards. Similar to a dream, you wake up and you can’t recollect the entire dream. This is why people (such as myself and Ant1) have seen it twice and still saying, might need another 1 or 2 sittings.. Whatever the point or purpose is, it was brilliant either way.

The only thing I was annoyed a little bit at was the action sequence in the snow scene dragged on just a tiny bit.

Anyone who says that it was a stupid movie or that they got it 100% the first time around, clearly just think they saw an action movie. I agree with Hasin… the snow sequence, in fact most of Fischer’s dream sequences were a bit of a letdown… they went too far down the action movie track, and could’ve done more using the budget on exploring dreamscapes and the role of the architect. Her design of Fischer’s dreams was hardly looked into.

well yeh l’ll wait till it gets released on BRrip before i watch it again.

I admitted not getting it after the first sitting (even though I was distracted but the ending alone got me anyway). To which I was called an idiot / stupid and then after the 2nd time around, I asked the same person who called me stupid to explain it and they had no idea haha

I find this interesting, I got it straight away… or at least I think I did LOL but after reading this thread I’m starting to wonder what I missed? What exactly are you guys trying to “get”?

Also Poppla - what’s the wedding ring theory? CBF looking it up.
