Talib Kweli finds his thief
Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli didn’t take it in his stride after his mobile phone and laptop were stolen from the dressing rooms at the Esplanade Hotel in Melbourne last Friday during his show with rapper Jean Grae. He alerted fans through Twitter, looked through security tapes, hunted around and finally nailed the alleged thief. According to Kweli, he was a member of the support act. The name was given to the venue’s operators, who passed it on to police. In Twitter posts, Kweli said he’d had got help in the matter from Naughty By Nature’s Vin Rock and Rap blogger DDotOmen but doesn’t say how. He seemed to have got his stuff back. “The dude dropped it and ran”. But he didn’t get his Yankee cap back.
