Question: If you go to a doctor and they prescribe you a medication, do you just take it? Get a second opinion or not listen to the advice at all?

Do you attempt alternatives and or feel the need to take drugs and just straight onboard to whatever is diagnosed- and the apparent cure...which usually comes in a form of take two to three tablets.....I’m just curious how many people take the doctors advice for gold?

I always investigate what medicine has been prescribed, most doctors prescribe meds to treat the symptoms not the cause…
Like take my ear - prescribed a high dose of ibuprofen which stops the inflammation but doesn’t treat the infection that’s causing it! I was sitting there and was like WTF! I went to another doctor…

My mum’s big on alternative medicine. Although i believe in it, i don’t think it’s at a stage yet that can replace conventional medicine. I’ll give alternative therapy a shot if my problem isn’t urgent, but otherwise i’ll pop a pill.
