I was looking forward to hearing some new material from dude but D’Angelo was arrested on the 7th of march for soliciting a blowie from an undercover policewoman for a grand total of 40 bucks while driving round his area at 2:30am.. he also had $12,000 stashed in his S.U.V!! he must of been planning a paaaaaartaaaayy! hahahaha would of thought dude must be able get heaps of chicks, must be a long time between goupies…

Serious question, how many of you groover gals would have blown him for free (assuming your single and he;s as charming as he appears - for the shy ladies amongst us - hehehe). It must be something to do with the thrill of paying for it cause I cant see D’Angelo having to pay for action.

I agree. Kind of like when that British actor (forgot his name) got busted and there were a bunch of fans out the front of his house with banners saying “i would have had sex with you for free”.

It is a double meaning… about a woman is what it is on the outset… but that’s what makes the lyrics to this song clever… it could be taken as a song about a woman.. but he’s also talking about weed or maybe even heroin/crack/coke/etc.

Break it down.  “We’ve been making love constantly that’s why my eyes are a shade blood burgundy”
“.. and even got a big sister by the name of Chocolate Thai” - that’s a type of weed… so that’s the dead giveaway

It’s a clever song… disguised it well with saying it’s about a girl he met in philly

Well.... it could be the fact that he just wants to wham bam thankyou m’am… whereas if it’s a girl who knows him.. she’d probly get too attached and stalk him no end.

Also, he’s fully insecure so he’s bound to be self-destructive. Shame really.

I personally think he’s better than Maxwell (sorry I know it must be blasphemous for some.. I’m a huge Maxwell fan .. but D’Angelo’s really got something extra spesh
