So i had a thread on the old forum decrying the fusion of RnB and dance music genres and im starting to see it get even more prominent lately. So we’ve got Ne-Yo ‘Closer’, Chris Browns ‘Forever’. Im over the hating just interesting to see how much other forms of music have come to influence the RnB and hip hop sound at different times. Timbaland is definitely at the forefront of these movements just thinking about tracks like JT’s ‘My Love’ and ‘The Way I Are’. Even in Rap it seems like every cheeseball top 20 dance hit from the last 10 years is getting sampled in hip hop tracks. The obvious one being ‘Stronger’ but Play N Skillz samples Daft Punks ‘One More Time’ Wiz Khalifa sampled Alice Deejay, Luda wsampled ‘Satisfaction’. What im really looking forward to is someone sample ‘Sandstorm’ by Darude:P

i remember hearing so many dance/house tracks out there which sampled rnb beats or even samples which made me hate dance/house music so damn much
-
im starting to hear a few house tracks sampling techno/hard nrg anthems which is just very wrong
-
as for rnb im happy that we are hearing more hi tempo tracks bc rnb was killin me so bad when i was hearing tracks in the 80bpms
-
tracks like “closer” by ne-yo and “forever” chris brown are tracks which i will never play bc they sound like hi tempo slow jamz for soft cocks

Haha so true X those are RnB tracks for closet housefans. And by housefans i mean homosexuals:D

It seems the ones for a fetish for sampling dance tracks are the Dirty South artists. Theyve already got that synth heavy sound so i guess its a natural progression to look at other synth heavy production.
