Hey guys,
my m8 and i are starting a band. WE are both drummers (im a kit drummer and he is a side/snare drummer), and we want to do our own covers to popular dance songs. My m8 baught a kaosilator and is buying a roland drum SPDS or sumthin. So we will have me playing the normal drums from the song and him putting dj/techno drums and riffs over the top, but to make it more of our own rather then playing along, we were wondering if ne of u guys know where or how we can get popular songs without the drum line in it???

We want to make our own drumline through the song to make it a bit like travis barker and dj am… with some effects over the top. we just want to keep the lyrics and melody.

Also any other ideas that would suit our idea would b awesome

Thanks so much smile

That’d be pretty hard without access to the actual recording session. You could eq the track but that’d be almost impossible, or try getting the beat loops and extracting from the original song. Apart from looping a certain section of a song that doesn’t have a beat… Best i’d say would be get the midi file to the song, extract the drum pattern and play your own but you’d have to reproduce all the actual sounds and make a full remix and add the acapella…

Yes i know that doesn’t make sense!
