I got prompted to start this after hearing the song that Stevie was nominated for “All about the love again”....
a) he wrote this in the 70s, then did a bit more in ‘98, then finished it recently. Unfortunately it sounds like something he could’ve put together in a day
b) it’s cheesy, almost like “I Just called to say i love you”
c) what’s with the fucking autotune?? And no its not vocoder, it’s autotune and it’s shit. Stevie doesnt need it

Never thought i’d say this but just because it’s by Stevie doesnt mean it should be nominated for a Grammy by default…

Whilst i think the whole thing is a sham, it is good to see Eric Roberson finally getting some sort of recognition, and also Ledisi getting a nod

ciara and jt’s match-up: hot song! musiq soulchild did some dream duets (india.arie and mary j. blige!)..

“single ladies (put a ring on it)” was an anthem (with a crazy video), definitely for the 00’s.. while beyonce was always my favourite group member in “destiny’s child”, never liked her solo stuff (besides her hit singles)..

i find jamie foxx the same with his solo stuff: he can do a killer hook, but can’t seem to go the distance in terms of a full-length album?

what happened to jay-z’s retirement? (its like john farnham all over again!)..

i love israel haughton and heather headley: powerful singers..

the grammys are usually the closest thing one gets to an award show that recognises actual artistry but looking at the nominations in the main categories it’s looking more like the AMAs/VMAs/Billboard awards. i guess the drop in ratings have made them go more commercial/mainstream.

kanye was a noticeable snub - it could be because he submitted 808s/Heartless in the Pop categories instead of the Rap ones but my gut tells me that it was the taylor swift incident that held him back.

biggest snub by far though was whitney who got ZERO nominations! major kick in the nuts since the label intentionally pushed forward the album release date to make the grammy deadline lmao

Grammys have a habit of giving awards to over the hill cunts more in recognition of all the work that theyve done in the past than what the particular winning song/album did. Same thing happens in the Oscars.
