The Strictly Down Under Mix CD Series Volume 1
The ‘Strictly Down Under Mix CD’ will be an ongoing series of CD’s/Digital download which will highlight the best urban talent Australia has to offer. It will provide artists with an opportunity to promote their music, raise their profile and expose themselves to a wider audience. Strictly Down Under will be a dedicated outlet for Australian Hip-Hop/R&B;artists.
Artists send your music through – requirements below. If you’re a rapper/singer or if you’re a producer who needs a rapper/singer – let us know, we’ll try and provide you details for someone to work with.
There will be only 20 spots on the mixcd and each track will go through a selection process.
As an artist, you will get:
CD DISTRIBUTION
- Exposure on an initial run of 500 pressed CD’s, completely designed with full credits provided to each artist and producer
- Artists will receive 10 copies to distribute themselves
- We will also distribute the remaining CD’s through nightclubs, shop drops and other sources – all for free
ONLINE DISTRIBUTION
- Via a dedicated ‘Strictly Down Under’ website (http://www.strictlydownundermixcd.com)
- Through an email list of over 8000+ recipients throughout the US, Canada and UK
- A copy of the Mix CD will be made available to DJ’s across Australia – most of whom are DJ’s who play in nightclubs across Australia
- Social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Myspace etc)
- Mixtape websites
- Message boards
PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
- All CD design, CD Covers, websites, any online advertising will be designed to promote the Mix CD
- The Website will include your BIO and links to any websites you may have
OTHER
- We will keep you up to date with all distribution methods so you are aware of how many copies have been given away, where, and how many copies have been downloaded
- We also plan to produce a Mix CD at least every 3 months
- We are looking to hold a launch party for the Mix CD at a club in Sydney
- We also have other plans to help promote local artists in other ways
To be included, there is a submission fee of $100 if your track is selected.
You will only be required to:
1) Submit an original track
2) Provide a short Bio and picture
The track you submit must be completely original and free from copyright (ie samples used in music must be copyright free or you must have permission to use samples) and must be confirmed in writing.
The artist and producers will retain full ownership of each track.
When you submit a track, you are authorising us to:
- Use the track within the Mix CD
- Potentially use as a sample on any promotional material
When submitting music, please ensure that you submit:
1) .wav file or mp3 at 320kbps (preferred)
2) Name of track, featured artists and producer
3) If possible please also supply an acapella and instrumental version
