yes, i think it was as bad.. i dont remember it getting the same press as now though?

i used to be a regular at highpoint/knifepoint, and although i was aware of the reputation (now and at 15/16 years old) was never confronted with any of the said violence..

it is scary the age of these young people are?

I lived literally around the corner from HP for years - No dramas at all - only stuff I’d read and hear.

The age part is the scariest thing. As a 12 year old I never contemplated carrying a knife or a baseball bat. Our “gangs” used to hang out at the local fish & chips shop and play pinball machines.

^ Which one is Bobby?

I’m suprised they didn’t pin point any ethinicity...totally unlike the media these days! unless it was all Aussies, then it is a ‘youth problem’ right.. ;p But does explain the lack of students at Braybrook tutor program on Saturday.

Highpoint isn’t bad. I go there with no issues all the time they don’t have many groups of kids who aren’t just normal kids not causing trouble...but now it might start to be a hot-spot.

It was about 15 years ago that my friend was stabbed at Canberra civic Bus Interchange after a group brawl...so to me it was. Depends I guess.

i remember strong violence 15 years ago but i don’t remember it being as random as it seems to be at the moment.
<>
all these attacks on people who go to help or people just trying to get in cab - makes even less sense than 15 year olds stabbing each other over disrespect.
<>
hahaha asanka.

^ Which one is Bobby?

30 years ago i was the skinny black kid (I can say black yeah?) with the microphone head - 30 years on after a ‘slight’ weight gain and a Skin peel and a chemical hair straighten I’d be more like the fat kid in the far right smile

I have never had problems myself at knifepoint (and i was there all the time when we lived close by) but in the later years the gang element certainly seemed to become more obvious esp around Level 1 (cinema level)

On a side note why did they replace Streets Chill Grill with San Churro - dont they know I dont do south American - hheheheh

I wonder if the recent increase in violence relates to the release of Street Fighter 4?
-
It was all the World Warriors fault back in the day… Damn kids not giving ‘mercy’ in the second round!
