i think the best program i’ve ever used hands down would have to be VTT but i’m pretty sure they don’t make it or distribute it anymore

Virtual TurnTables - ironically a virtually copy of the old school denon cd players.

Yeh i second what Nyd said, Virtual Turntables was great. If you had a channel splitter adapter for your headphones, you could even cue up tracks in your headphone as you would with a real mixer. VTT is how I trained my ears to beatmix before i had the real thing.

So would ppl be interested in like a (one off) weekend workshop- have some experienced DJ/Turntablists in to show some skills and tricks etc?

Seems alot of DJs are self taught...that’s what it’d be good to share some knowledge around...and if skills or a technique could be shown to assist in your practice, it’d make it all the better.

Does Melbourne hav a Jam Session? Just where local dj’s setup a couple turnies and have a cut? And just network and learn off each other?

lol nah mate no jam sessions here!!!!

although there have been times when one or two djs have worked in record shops and if ur lucky enough u’ll see em cut it up in there!

i was tossing up the idea of getting a dj course together… mainly cos i had all the gear sitting at home and a lot of spare time, plus i could get guest ‘lecturers’ in from time to time!

in terms of progs though yeah Ant1 thats how i learnt too.. was awesome back on my pentium 133 laptop hahaha

Has anyone used the new build of acid? (more for remixing) ABOUT FREAKIN TIME THERES SOME VERTICAL FADERS FOR THE TRACKS!!!

hahaha

The jam sessions is a good idea though, doubt it will ever happen.

i’ve actually found that acid can be a lot more powerful than people give it credit for… but not really due to the program it self, more to do with the supplementary plugins provided.  I’ve used it a lot recently, once you delve further into the additions to the program, you can see the benefits in it
