Depends who she tells..

A relationship is based on all sorts of circumstances and personalities, i don’t believe that any specific area (i.e the bedroom or kitchen) would have a yay or nay effect on the two people involved. No matter what the situation is it can be compromised if there is no expectations and further appreciation for who the person is....if you are happy, then stick to it.
And who cares if your submissive in one space, if your not feeling suffocated or undermined and actually like to be submissive there is no rule of power to say this is wrong.

From my first comment- if you want power, stay single. There is no room for this train of thought in a relationship…

If you’re the submissive one how do you know your not being undermined? Take Stockholm syndrome or to domestic violence where the victim in turn wants the abuse…

See the description of power confuses me, i get what you mean if you want power stay single, but on the other hand i could manipulate a submissive girl and control her, that too is power… Then you go and throw love in the mix and that causes kaos and just throws all of the above out the window…

To me Submissive is tending to give in or giving in to others. This can be a choice. Submissive girls (or guys) can still have balls and when feel they are being controlled or someone is holding power in a forcible manner, they will be out the door before you can say ‘can you pass me the....’

I understand there are situations where relationships can turn abusive or Stockholm syndrome in deeper cases, but if we’re talking surface of a situation where the question is if someone can be submissive, then I think its all good. If your with someone who is attempting to control or overthrown you with self esteem attacks or malicious or mental behaviour, this is different all together.

See I can respect a submissive person but if it was by choice, then that’s just weak and it’s like a reverse power play!

Hubby gets what he wants in the bedroom, but I’d hardly say I was submissive, in fact I feel like I’m in control there.  It wouldn’t be who I am to be submissive.  Nor is it like me to be that way in the rest of my life.  But I wouldn’t say either of us have more control - I would say its fairly balanced.  There are certain things we both take responsibility for, certain things that are more one person’s role than the others (like groceries are my job) but there’s always free communication and input about everything.  That’s in the bedroom too.  We both feel free to ask for whatever we want and to say no to whatever we want.  If I had to pick someone who was more dominant in a pinch I’d say me, and that would apply to both arenas…
