Having some girlie talk over the weekend and interested to see what people have to say about the two roles people play in relationships in and out of the bedroom.

Our main topic of discussion was whether or not a woman can remain equal OUT of the bedroom if she is submissive IN the bedroom. Most girls there voted no… thoughts?

Of course she can....What happens it the bedroom is just that.

In fact there may be an argument that suggests that submissiveness in the bedroom means anytnhing but out of the bedroom. If a boy has a woman pandering to his every fantasy between the sheets he may be just as likely to pander to her every wish outside of the bedroom

bedroom behaviour is really unpredictable.  some people you’d think would be absolute wildcats are starfish and people who struggle to say “boo” socially are screamers between the sheets.

i think if someone is embarassed about how they behave in the bedroom or if they feel inadequate and act coy or defeated afterwards, it could leave room for their partner to assert dominance but that’s not down to the bedroom behaviour, that’s down to how both partners handle it.

there are some people who thrive on submission and quickly dominate. it does take 2 to tango though.

If you want power, stay single.
If you want a partner, be submissive
If you want a husband/wife, give good head.

B-Love & Lao Hu - I argued the same points you both raised which is why I started this thread because I seemed to be the only one in that frame of mind. Glad I’m not alone on this one lol. Some of the girls present felt that if they were too submissive sexually it meant that they were offering too much and “losing ground”. Personally, I don’t get in to the power trips. I don’t think it should be that way.

a happy relationship is never dictated its a well oiled democracy

So we’ve all agreed on what we think it SHOULD be like and how WE are.... but II don’t think it rules out the possibility that a person’s view of their partner can be altered by their behaviour in the bedroom.

Newly-wed couple from Forgetting Sarah Marshall comes to mind lol.

if you’re in a relationship with someone as evenly balanced in temperament and composure as you are, it would be hard to ignore a contradictory alter ego in the bedroom.  i would have to agree that it could challenge the balance of harmony but again, isn’t that still down to good communication afterwards?

Like Richard Gere I’m a big fan of the old Gerbel (or the occasional ferret if its a special occasion) Sadly my wifes a vet nurse so the pets are off the menu (unless I agree to adopt the said pet later).

So do we really think ones sexual proclivities play a role in relationship dynamics outside of the bedroom? Be it dominance and submission, level of kinkiness etc.....

Many people who are submissive in the sack wear the pants outside of it

Many shy types take on a completely different demeanour in bed

Some girls / boys say “eeew’ to a dim sim but in bed seem to lose this aversion to ‘exotic’ cuisine so to speak.

If you were dating a boy who was sweet loving gentile and placid but liked to slap your butt hard in bed would this offend you the point that you’d check out of a relationship.

If a cougar with a young cub decided to don the school uniform in the boudoir would this disturb you.
