Usher - Raymond Vs Raymond

Usher has truly been missed in the music scene in recent times, and in his absence we have seen a number of new artist stake their claim in the industry. “Raymond Vs Raymond” is Usher’s sixth studio album and already in such a sort time has already reached number one status in the states while making waves of his return to the top. Ushers fifth album “Here I Stand” didn’t please too many fans and failed to reach the benchmark of his previous releases.  So with such a big comeback album we have decided to listen through, track-by-track to give you the lowdown and see how it measures up

B.o.B. wows Sydney - July 2010

He is fresh, he is new and he is taking the world by storm.  With his name on every chart show on every commercial and urban radio station, and saturating MTV with his new collaborations, B.o.B. had created a stir well before stepping into the country. Needless to say, I was more than a little curious to see him live on stage at the Metro in Sydney on 20 July 2010.

Letters to Juliet

Seyfried’s performance as an aspiring journalist Sophie, who stumbles across the ultimate love story in Italy is definitely noteworthy. She is able to create some tear jerking moments despite corny lines and text book scenes. Redgrave ofcourse is perfect in her role as the 70 year-old Clare, returning to Italy to find the true love she abandoned 50 years earlier. Sadly, i cant say the same for Egan, who’s performance seemed a little forced and often not convincing.

BIOSHOCK 2

In BioShock 2, you are a Big Daddy - but your Little Sister has been taken away and you need to find out why. (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3)

While Part Two was expected, given the commercial hit of the original, many fans have been fearing the franchise’s transfer into just another series of mindless first person shooters, but this is definitely not the case.

Ken Walker’s Urban Assault - Friday 23rd. July 2010

Usually when I hear that artists are embarking on a cover album of Soul classics, I cringe, whine and moan and the end product falls way short of the mark and in most cases, quite embarrassingly so. Gladly this is not the case with Wake Up, the new album from John Legend & The Roots. It’s choc full of reworked and remoded classics that do the original artists proud. The first single is their take on the O’jays 73 classic Wake Up Everybody and man it’s a belter.
